The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends that an infant see the dentist within six months of the first tooth eruption.
However, a few points Dr. Dragos recommends for all parents:
- Encourage brushing and flossing at least twice per day, especially at night.
- Ask your dentist about sealants. Sealants are hardened materials coated on teeth to prevent cavity infections and worse.
- Limit frequency of sugar snacking to once per day, if any. Constant grazing will increase the risk of cavities.
