Dentistry for Your Children

Visiting a dentist at a young age can be a traumatic experience if not done correctly.

At Fifth Avenue Smile, we have dedicated pediatric-themed rooms and offer pediatric services ranging from cleanings and exams to providing sealants and filling cavities. Dr. Dragos’ gentle touch and calming demeanor along with our many entertainment options will have your children eager to come back every time!

Dr. Dragos understands the importance of starting good oral health habits at a young age, which is why he provides personalized recommendations for children and their parents based on your first exam.

If you are looking for Special Needs Dentistry services, we recommend Stony Brook Dental Associates at (631) 632-8971.

Prevention through Regular Cleanings

We recommend that all patients receive an exam and cleaning every three to six months. Patients should replace their toothbrush every three months, as well.

These preventive visits not only polish your teeth and brighten your smile, but they are important to ensure that plaque does not accumulate, which can lead to cavities and disease. Using state-of-the-art low-emission digital x-ray equipment, Dr. Dragos can identify and diagnose a variety of oral health concerns such, including cavities, bone loss, oral cancers, and more.

Mouth Guards

Mouth guards are custom-tailored devices worn over teeth to protect them from injury, typically in sports settings. Athletic mouth guards should always be worn when playing a contact sport because they significantly reduce the risk of tooth loss.

Sleep Apnea Therapy

Did you know?: Sleep apnea is a common sleep disorder in which breathing is temporarily paused or shallowed during our sleep cycle. Patients suffering from sleep apnea are at increased risk for heart attack, stroke, diabetes, and other chronic health problems.

Do you think you may be suffering from sleep apnea? Call our office to discuss the many solutions available to you.

Insurance usually does cover Sleep Apnea-related medical devices.

Oral Cancer Screening

The mouth is certainly connected to our bodies; therefore, certain changes within the oral cavity may indicate a possible condition that should be treated quickly and efficiently. In addition to dental visits, we recommend that patients perform their own in-home oral cancer screening by looking for changes in appearance around their face, mouth, lips, tongue, or gums.
